Yesterday, the children from the Mary Mitchell Family and Youth Center came to Mapes Avenue Garden to weed and plant a bed they will maintain throughout the season. The rain held off and we were able to get a good amount of planting done. Special thanks to Bronx Green-Up and Mr. Parker, from Mapes Avenue Garden, for their assistance! We had a great workday Saturday afternoon at Mapes Avenue Garden in the Bronx. On a beautiful sunny afternoon, we prepared the soil for planting and brought in some compost to increase the fertility of the soil. As you can see from the pictures, it was a pretty big job. Thanks so much to Harlem Hard H.A.T.S., Bronx Green-Up, and Mr. Parker from Mapes Avenue Garden for their hard work.
